"I’ve had a lot of different experiences in nursing, but never to the point where you actually put a gown and glove on, all the gear, and walked into a unit and stayed there in that gear for all those hours. They would give us three to four to five hours in there and then give us an hour break if we could but, just walking in and it was just the realm of ‘Oh my dear God’ this is so different, and all these people, 19 year olds, 70 year olds, 50—all on ventilators, all struggling to breathe, to survive one more day."
